An ideal solution but not so practical
 Medicines which are custom-made for you will take a longer time to be provided. There will still be no guarantee of no side-effects which is the very reaon why you are looking for them. At best, the side-effects can be minimized but that too will lead to an extensive research and too much trouble for too little benefit.  Besides , The side-effects  of your therapy is monitored by your doctor as per the established medical practice so there is no real danger involved as of now.

Tailor-made medication would be like go back in time when the family doctor prescribed a mixed of drugs especific to treat one patient, and that medicine was prepared by the chemist utilizing only the amount that only one patient would need.

Today, the pharmaceutical business means manufacturing drugs in big quantities following a "general prescription". Of course this will affect everyone in a different way. Therefore, the existence of the side effect warnings, and interrelations with other drugs which may not be compatible. 

I don't believe humanity would go back a hundred years or more, simply because it wouldn't be a good business for the pharmaceutical labs. We all know that this world spins around what is good business and leave the highest ROI. No one really cares about what would be ideal for the individual health of the population, even if it would be technically possible.

I see benefits in medication specific to age as the reaction and tolerance of a four-year-old is different from that of an older person. However, I don't think gender specific medication would make sense. Why would that be?

In addition to the issues about the size of the data while transporting it and the time that takes, the sensitivity of the data must also be a serious concern. We're talking about a combination of people's medical information, and cutting edge research - a very valuable cocktail that plenty of criminals would love a free sample of.

I wonder what special measures the folks at Tgen take to ensure the security and integrity of their data both on- and off-site. Should we expect coverage of that aspect of the project in future segments?

Well said! I think that medication specific to gender, age even life style can be developed to treat what makes us sick. Taylor made medicine that saves lives should be the dream of any Doctor.

Amazing, indeed. When I think of news than really matter I think of this kind of news, where we can clearly see a group of people working hard to improve the wellbeing of humanity as a whole. 

I believe four-year-olds would benefit better if they are treated with drugs speacially developed for their age instead of the ones currently used.

What an amazing story about how technology innovations and advancements impact people. I am the father of a wonderful little girl and I would hope to have this kind of support behind us should we ever find ourselves there. Very tasteful approach to explaining these advancements. Looking forward to the next video.
